Welcome to my web journal. I am Tina L. aka KK. A Filipina born and raised in the beautiful Baguio City, Philippines. In my search for the meaning of life, I caught the IT Y2K wave and found myself along the shores of America. A workaholic career girl turned-homemaker. I am married to my wonderful husband and mom to a beautiful little girl. I live with my family(including a dog who thinks he is human) in the suburbs between Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC. This site contains my experience, insights, observations and opinions pertaining to but not limited to life in America. I try to find a balance between integrating with my new country while keeping my heritage alive.
Contrary to the naive conception when I was outside-looking-in, America isn’t a utopia. I found out that it’s a more complicated jungle than the one I came from. Living here could be quite an adventure.
I started my personal blog to assert my identity as an individual. One of the toughest hurdle I had to get through when I got married and became a mom in a place away from my home country is the feeling of loosing my sense of identity.
Having a blog is a cost effective alternative to a therapist.
