First Week of Summer Vacation

Life comes too fast that it’s been more than a week of school vacation and I haven’t had the energy to blog even if there are so much to blog about. With dance recital music still ringing in my ears, I have somewhat recovered from a busy week. Blame it on being an amateur all-around-mom or just getting too old to be up late at night and awake during the day. I’ve survived 2 days-3 hours rehearsals and 2 days of recitals itself. Although I’ve vowed not to over schedule my daughter with too much extra-curricular activities all at once, somehow last week became an intersection of culmination of one and introduction to another. I will be elaborating about the recital week with pictures later on.

A few hours into the Monday of Summer vacation, Little K was saying: “Mom, I’m bored!” as I was catching up on neglected laundry because I was at her school for her different activities. I had to force her for a nap in the afternoon that she would have energy for the rehearsal and prevent meltdowns when she comes home. The days were anything but boring by my standards. Tuesday: she went to her introduction to Martial arts class. Wednesday: dress rehearsals. Thursday: 10-12:30 Oil Change, 4:30pm Martial arts class. Friday: 7:00pm-10pm: dance recital. Saturday: 12-4:00pm D’s company picnic, 7-10pm dance recital. Sunday: 10am service, 1:30-9:30pm Daddy’s Day Fishing trip. Monday: 9:40 am Swimming class, 4:30 Martial arts class. Tuesday, Swimming class 9:40am, 2:00-3:30 Library- Reading Bug Kick-off activities, 3:30-4:30: pool. I have to fit in normal everyday stuff including cleaning, cooking, getting things ready and to think that I was actually thinking that I will be able to fit in painting some walls during the week. Someone might say the answer would be time management, right? Well I’ve cut out blogging, should I cut out sleeping too? I’ve read about more and more Americans making a 24 hour day into 36 hours- these are the high strung stressed out creatures who would go into rage with the slightest provocation. Oh, I was talking about summer vacation- sorry about the A.D.D. moment. So it’s either obsess over perfect neat and tidy house with a very bored wanna-learn-it-all-child or a decently clean to live-in house and a happy exhausted child.

Summer vacation would involve swim classes, martial arts classes, VBC(Vacation Bible Camp), shuttling between Eastern and Western Maryland for mini-vacations and family visits.

    Hi Teacher Julie,
We walk to and from the pool and library as long as it’s not too hot. It’s exercise ;) .
