PhotoHunt: Self (yourself or part of you)

img_2510.JPG

Looking through the kaboodle of photos in the Picasa gallery, I realized that I don’t have much photos of myself. Yeah, I’m camera shy. This photo is one of my favorites because it reminds me so much of the magical time in Boracay, Philippines. Together with my husband, daughter and little sister we went sailing with the Red Pirates back in 2006 and the experience will be forever be a part of me. One of these days, I’ll get around editing the video and dig up my drafts about the trip. That’s me stumbling back to the sailboat, had too much SMB(San Miguel Beer).

Here is a post in which I have some more pictures. Oh well, I just have to make a conscious effort to hand off the camera to my husband more often.

Sailing with Red Pirates sounds like the title for an adventure movie!

It seems that we bloggers have a lot in common. We’re usually the ones behind the camera so there are few photos of ourselves. :) You did a great job on this one, however.

    Happy Hunting!

Great photo! I’ve seen those sailboats on TV documentaries. How exciting to have sailed on one!

I know what you mean, for a long time I was the main picture-taker. Then when my sons got cameras they had goofy shots of me. “Hey, Mom, look here!” Snap! And they’ve have a photo of me looking dazed. They’ve matured a bit since then :)

Most of us photographers prefer to be behind the camera. Maybe it’s a control thing.

    I love the beach!
The sound of the waves crashing, the feel of the sand… it’s all wonderful.

Beautiful boat! I suffer the same problem, always behind the camera, rarely in front of it.

I don’t have photos of myself because I am the one wielding the camera. If I handed it off to my husband, he would cut off my head.

That looks like a sweet sailing trip you have there. How I wish I can be at Philippines sailing right now.

Hello Everyone, Thank you for visiting my post and taking the time to make comments. I’ve enjoyed visiting your “self” posts as well. I think the common theme for shutterbugs is wanting to be behind the camera rather than infront of it.

I think it’s about control like Claudia pointed out. Or just plain being self-conscious.

Hi Tina. Please pardon my late visit. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photos. Boracay is a lovely place and I’m sure you have many sweet memories there.

I’ll come back to read more of your recent posts. Take care!
