Little K’s First Math Recognition Awards Night

We were at the Math Club recognition awards last night for Little K’s school when the guest speaker asked the question:
“What happens when you plant a seed?” A few students raised their hands including Little K. Two older kids were called. The first student answered: “It grows”. Then the second one who was called said “it turns into a plant.” Even after hearing the answers Little K didn’t put her hand down and she was called she proudly blurted out : “It germinates!” The speaker and the older audience in the room were all amused by her answer.
Everyone who participated in Math Club was given a recognition medal. Little K was so thrilled to get hers. There were also some neat freebies from NASA and NOA. After Little K looked inside the envelope with the freebies from NASA, she whispered disappointedly to me: “how come there is no money inside?”
