Little K’s Painting in an Exhibit!

Little K in her first exhibit

Whoa! Here’s something to blog about. Moms like to show off their children’s dabbles and scribbles, right? I didn’t imagine that I would be saying: look my Little K’s dabbles are in an exhibit and she’s just in Kindergarten!

That’s her artwork up there

Two weeks ago, Little K said that her artwork in school was going to be in an exhibit and I said: “That’s great honey!” Thinking that it’s going to be done in her school, I just waited until they tell us when it is ready. A week ago when daddy was checking her book bag, he saw the invitation to the exhibit. The whole time I was thinking that 2 pieces from each class were going to be shown because she also had a classmate whose work as chosen. We finally went down to Annapolis last night and were pleasantly surprised to know that only 2 out of the whole school were chosen for the county wide elementary, middle and high school exhibit! What are the odds of a piece getting picked out of 72 elementary schools? We are really proud of our little artist!

    Her smile is pure happiness.

by the way, is that small body bag of hers a Baguio product?

Bellissima! Congrats Mummy for the genes… added to Daddy’s of course(for gender “unbias’” sake hehehe…).

Analyse is right. You have all the right to brag about it. Grabe, a real artist at her age!

Who was the model? Look at the logo on your right side, that of the Yan Ang Filipina. Does it look the same?

Hey, if hindi siya manalo in that exhibit and ma u tube or tv patrol, the judges are blind.
Or do not know what is best.
i could spot her way of thinking about mommys.
Mommys are the best in her eyes, she draw her thoughts about you, and she is happy to have you.

    Congrats!

Thank you all for your words of congratulations!

@ Analyse, thanks and hugs back for you.

@ Auntie Mila- She was happy about her work getting in the exhibit but smiling more because she was able to have ice-cream from Maggie Moose after we saw her work.

@Teacher Julie -Thanks! Yes it’s a Baguio product, made for her by her Auntie Jhing.

@ Lovelyn- which creative genes come from? 50%-50% … Who was the model? I dunno, from memory. It looks close to the logo. Except for the green eyes.

@ Raqgold - Thanks! We sent them a link of the blog post :) . We are always out during the time window that we can call.

@Belle- Thanks! 50%-50% para walang away, hehehe.

@ Ate Amy, correction-it’s just exhibit and not contest. She really likes to put emphasis on the eyes. I saw the paintings of her batchmates and no wonder her work was chosen…. all of the rest of the faces are either mad and sad faces.

I love her choice of colors and how she incorporated movement (the lady looking up) in her painting. I’m sure she was thinking of you when she was painting that beautiful lady of hers.
Great job, Kisses and high five to you, Little K.

Very good, Lil K! Little details made the difference: the neck ornament, the bow in the hair, the direction of the gaze, the festive decor in the background. Amazing how she captured all of that, all in her unique style!

    Where was the exhibit held?

  24. Lisa's Chaos | Jun 18, 2008 | Reply

You should be proud! And she deserves a huge ice cream! Way to go!

    Hi Glenville,
Thank you. No we didn’t enroll her in art school. We just supply her with water color, paper, crayons and markers. It also helps that we DO NOT buy her excessive toys.
