$44 Flip Flops?!!
By KK on Feb 29, 2008 in shopping, Beautiful People, Thinker
We had to go to Columbia Mall last night to return a pair of shoes that I ordered online. I really liked the style but they ran out of my size and I took a chance of ordering the next size up. The half size up was too big. What a bummer! I had to return it to the store so that I get my refund right away. After I returned the shoes, I went to Nordstroms to look for a pair of Crocs and/or Havaianas that my little sister ask me to buy for her.
As I was looking around, I couldn’t help choking at the price of a pair of flip flops with tiny fake diamonds studs for $44! I really don’t see the point of paying that much for a pair of flip flops. Would anyone care to explain to me why it’s worth buying something like that?

I dunno the answer hehe. And why would they put put tiny fake diamonds? It’s like they’re inviting someone to steal it.
I just bought a flip flop at P50. Was trying to bring the price down to P40 pero ayaw ng nagbebenta

Hi Bill,
I noticed that it’s really difficult to bargain at the market already.

People are going gaga over the Havaianas here and I think our country has the most number of buyers in Asia.Imagine a pair worth almost PhP900? Its a status symbol, really. Aba, mantakin mo,pati mga sekretraya dun sa center, nakaganun? Eh ako hindi bumibili kasi what for? Won’t certainly make my feet more attractive
Attractive sa magnanakaw, oo. Sheesh. Sorry ha.

Hi Teacher Julie,

not so related with the topic but something about footwears and its tag price :p
we were excited to join the crowd of people swarming in the crocs outlet here when it was newly opened.we found the colors and texture cool and thought our daughter can have one for herself. but after we found out that the price is NT$1000, we retreated from the store right away and ended up buying the ones from China worth NT$100.

Hi Jane,
If you can get Crocs on a bargain, they are really worth it because they are comfy and has anti-microbial properties. I got my daughter’s Crocs for $15 on sale instead of $30, $15-25 is “reasonable” around here. We tried to go off- brand $12 and she ended up with blisters and stopped using the shoes.

is that the havaianas with swarovski crystals? I didn’t buy one for myself too, kasi nga di na reasonable.
But there are others I know that collect havaianas kasi, so i guess that’s enough reason for them to buy…siguro lang ha =)

Hi Ate Girlie,
The ones without the crystals are reasonable specially if you buy them instead of sandals for summer. $20 for flip-flops seems to be a bit much but if you factor in being able use it as your main foot wear during the warm weather months, it’s really not all that bad.
