Christmas Scenes 2007
By KK on Jan 8, 2008 in Featured, Traditions, Mommy Files, Thinker
This is a delayed post. I have just officially gotten over the Holiday hang-over. It’s a bit late but like they say better late than never. We had a quiet Christmas. Yes, we were wishing for a white sand Christmas but we still made the most of what we had. Before the Holidays, I had so many things all planned out. I wanted to start a personal project and home improvement project all at the same time. I realized that I have been quite ambitious because I didn’t really want to do anything else but rest and be with my family. It was just heaven being able to sleep in for days! Little K and I sure did baked up a storm which I plan to elaborate in a food blog that I have yet to cook up.
Homemade sugar cookies for Santa Class with a mug of milk. Little K was very particular about making “healthy” cookies for Santa, what she meant was from scratch and not the instant full of hydrogenated oil laden stuff we can conveniently buy at the stores. Just butter, flour and sugar. She wanted to get involved in everything from the eggs, flour, vanilla, etc.
She also wanted to offer some of her ginger bread house to Santa and she wanted the special mug just for him.
I don’t know how long she’s going to believe in the beer belly man in a red suit but Christmas evening 2007, she was giddy with excitement. She did ask plenty of logistics related questions but she still believes in the magic of ho! ho! ho!
She looks a bit disappointed because we let her open one present and then we had to go to church. She complained the church is boring because people just stand up and sit-down. To a 6 year old, it’s gotta be tough to sit through 1 hour service.
She has that Victoria Beckham non-smiling pose going. She was done with the 100 pieces puzzle in less than 45 minutes. I helped her with the dark parts on the first time and then the next time she did it in less than 20 minutes. She wanted something more challenging and she started on a 500 pieces puzzle that our neighbors gave her for Christmas. I guess she was overwhelmed and told me she was just looking at the pieces. I have been spending time with her to put it together, it’s addictive and one of the culprits why I haven’t blogged much during the Christmas break.
We are happy that our Little C is still with us and celebrated Christmas together. Santa gave him a new goose toy and a new blanky. I don’t know what intrigued him here but he looks pensive.
Yep we haven’t gotten tired of the bird yet. A simple and quiet Christmas dinner. My husband handles the bird and I do the side dishes.
Our family in one of our favorite spots.
