How to Get What You Want
By KK on Nov 18, 2007 in Darnest Things My Kid Says, Mommy Files
… by my just-turned-6-year-old.
Daddy has gone fishing early in the morning and I didn’t even notice him leave since I was sleeping like a log.
This morning Lil K came to me in bed gave me a kiss and a hug then snuggled up close as we slept another 2 hours or so. When we finally woke up she said: “Mommy you are the best mom in the world! There is no other mom is as best as you, can I have a pancake for breakfast?”
I was still too sleepy to make her pancakes so I said I will get her cereal for breakfast and I will make her pancakes for lunch. She is now enjoying her pancakes with a big maple syrup coated smile on her face. She learns fast doesn’t she?

Nonetheless, its just a reason to come and visit you more often.

Hi Leah,
I’m sure your little girl will also have her little special ways of getting things that she wants.
I have told my Lil K that whining doesn’t work with me, I told her it’s either she tells me 3 good reasons why she deserves something but she does have better ideas.

Hi Teacher Julie,
.
I’m sure you aren’t immune to it too when your kids ask so nicely
