Reality Blog on Problogging

It’s a play on reality TV. You can’t get more real than this.
My blog friend Lisa of GoBaguio has been telling me for a long time that I have to build a blog with content which people will find helpful so that I can make something on Adsense. I have kept this in mind but I also needed to build up a network of readers who had something in common with me. I started mygoodfinds.com first but I have yet to learn how to get an audience from a wider audience and my affiliate companies are very strict on not promoting anything that deals with my beliefs outside of material things that’s why I started mygoodfinds.org. This blog has taken off faster than the dotCom. I shall continue to look for the holy grail content.
I consider myself still very new to this different level of blogging. Unlike blogging just to have someone to correspond with is so unlike problogging or earning from the blog. It takes a whole lot to time to read up and catch up. I also did DIY on the themes since I couldn’t afford to hire the services of web designers since the blog is not making any money. I had this belief that money will miraculously appear once I plastered my Adsense on my blog. I’ve had hours and hours of just trying to learn CSS and PHP. I’m more into the backend services in IT and not the user interface that’s why it took me a while to grow accustomed to it.
I only had more free time about 2 months ago when my daughter started going to Kindergarten. During summer I used to take her out alot to enjoy the outdoors and I rarely had the energy to do something about my blogs. Then fellow moms started asking me what I planned to do with my free time once my daughter goes to school. I felt like a deer in front of the headlights. I really didn’t know! I planned long time ago to go back to work. But going back to work in IT after several years out is pretty challenging. I can’t go back to the same company since they are in NJ. I’m still thinking if it’s worth it for me to get a certification of some sort just to get it at the same level that I left. But it goes back to my issue with the non-family friendly working hours. My priority right now is my family and I will have to work around that. I am hoping that I can work out something somehow.

KK, maybe one of your topics (could be a PMN article too) could be the helpful reading materials you’ve had in building a website (e.g. title of of CSS book or what is PHP) that other moms like me could start browsing through. I find your net entrepreneurs entries most interesting.
