National Screening Day for Alzheimer’s

Early detection is always the best chance of curing a disease next to prevention. If it’s incurable at least knowing that a patient needs special care would be the only way to help them and give them access to treatment. November is the month for National Screening Day for Alzheimer’s disease. If you or someone you know has been experiencing short term memory loss or forgetfulness( one of the symptoms of Alzheimer’s), be sure to take the opportunity for screening.

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive, degenerative disorder that attacks the brain’s nerve cells, or neurons, resulting in loss of memory, thinking and language skills, and behavioral changes.” -source: alzfdn.org

The screenings are available for free at different locations, please make sure that you check the schedule in your areas. Please be sure to bring your parents, relatives or elderly friends with you. Letting them know and bringing them to the screenings show that you care.

We all are going to eventually get old someday and we don’t know who will get Alzheimer’s, it would be a good idea to contribute to the good cause of looking for solutions and treatments. Who knows by the time we get old, there would be a cure. This will be only made possible by generous tax deductible donations. It’s important to find out the cause of memory loss, sometimes memories is all people have.

Succesful Aging: “The key to successful aging is a healthy, common sense lifestyle. The goals are to slow or prevent the loss of brain cells, maintain the brain’s capacity to make up for any loss, and let remaining brain cells function well. This requires a healthy body, mind and spirit.” -nationalmemoryscreening.org
