Setbacks from a Healthy Lifestyle

During my pregnancy I gained 40+ lbs, for some crazy reason I craved McDonalds french fries so much. I lost 35 lbs by going to the gym(cardio and weight training) and eating a very strict low-carb diet. But now some of the weight has slowly and silently crept up.

From my experience these are the hurdles and setbacks I have gone through:

  • Going on a strict low-carb, high protein made me so moody.
  • Going to a gym with child-care may sound great but my daughter got sick every 2 weeks and the last straw was her getting sick of stomach flu(there are gym rat parents who don’t have any regard to other people and they will bring their kids in even if they know their kids are sick). Little K is a very outgoing child but for some reason she tells me she doesn’t like the gym.
  • Getting sick and other emotional stress caused by unforeseen events may start a trend of not going back to exercising even after recovering.
  • Getting addicted to mocha frappucino, only when I looked at the nutritional value brochure did I realize that I was slurping 420 calories with gusto!
  • Indulged in Coldstone ice cream.
