My Childhood Dream Came True: Chocolate World

When I was child, whenever a relative or a family friend comes from abroad and visits us we are usually handed a gift called “pasalubong.” A lot of times we get bars of Hersheys chocolates. I have grown so fond of this delectable treat that I have been imagining what would it be like to go to the chocolate land where they are made. Although I have grown older and have tasted gourmet chocolates, Hershey’s have a very special place in my heart.
Last week a friend who owns an IT consulting company told us that he is giving away Hershey Park tickets. I was ecstatic! My dear husband already had a fishing get-together planned up for the weekend with his geek fishing buddies but he knew that it will really make his wife very happy to go to an all expense paid trip to Hershey Park. I was giddy like a child awaiting for Saturday. We didn’t tell Lil K and we thought it’s going to be a surprise for her. It was a good 2 hour trip from home. I was enjoying the very scenic drive of rolling hills and corn fields that I forgot to whip out the camera. Yeah, yeah… I know I should be better at it by now.
On the way to Pennsylvania, Lil K asked where we were going and we told her we were going to the “fair.” Imagine her surprise when we arrived.

We were greeted at the gate by free chocolates!
We met our host at the park and we were treated to lunch. He was there with his family of 6. After the meal and thanking our host for his generosity, we went on our separate ways since they had teenagers who can take the thrill rides. We decided that it would be good for us to go to the milder rides since I am concerned of my vertigo coming back and it will also be good to have the gentle rides for Lil K.

This is such a cool train ride for the young and young at heart.

Would you check this out. It was a ship designed like a swing(pendulum). That was a wacky ride for me. I was able to hold on to my breakfast.

It was pretty difficult taking pictures from a moving pendulum.

This is the smaller version of the big ship. Lil K was a trooper!

Precious fleeting smiles! This is the reason why Canon makes high speed cameras!
to be continued….

Wow, those are great shots. I love the idea of owning a high speed camera. No more of those awful blurs which I often get.
Nice to know you had a fabulous time with the family. Thanks for sharing and looking forward for more.

Hi Raq,
Talagang yum-yum
Hi Rachel,
Thanks. It’s really worth buying a good digital camera. I’ll be reviewing one later, unsponsored of course.
