PMN Photo Hunt: Glossy from the Garden
By KK on Aug 3, 2007 in PMN, Homemaker, Gardener
Our first harvest for this year from our family garden. My husband and daughter tend the vegetable garden and I cook the produce. The goodies inside the basket excluding the onions are from labor of love. We have tomatoes, okra, yellow squash and green peppers.
This is in participation with the Pinoy Moms Network Fam Pics project.

@ Feng, Oo may okra din dito. We plant it ourselves because it’s very rare to have decent looking ones in the store lalo na kung na-unahan kami ng mga galing India, they snap off the ends of the darn things. Mainit ngayon para sa Singang.
@ Analyse, baka pwede rin diyan. Try mo lang.
@Sexymom, I didn’t notice the okras being glossy too .

Ang galing nyo! You grow your very own veggies. I love fresh tomatoes, but i’d never eat okra, haha.

That’s a lovely bunch of veggies. At first glance, you know that it’s good quality. Just look at those plump, glossy tomatoes. I’d love some. I like okra, preferably steamed and with some bagoong.
Tina | Aug 7, 2007 | Reply
@ Raqgold, it’s the only pic I had that was glossy because I was away from my desktop.
@ Chateau, we try to grow vegetables as much as possible so that we don’t have to buy during the warm months. Vine ripe tomatoes are really worth the effort. Okras are good source of protein and fiber
.
@Lady Cess, Kulang nalang ampalaya at talong.
@Leah, healthy tomatoes- courtesy of cow manure
@Dixie, thanks. Let’s cook pakbet.
@Konkong, I have to go buy some talong and ampalaya, maybe next yeear we can grow them too!
@Mitch, salamat.
@Rach, Thanks. If you are close by, I can give you some. We just picked a whole bunch. I like them steamed too and just have soy sauce and spicy vinegar on the side.
