Life Happens While We Make Other Plans

It’s amazing that a whole year has passed. Same time last year I was eating lechon(roast pig) while enjoying the company of my family and relatives at my maternal Lola’s place. I wanted to blog about it before but life just happens and it’s only now that I got the chance to sit and reminisce about the whole trip. We celebrated our 5th Anniversary last year by going to the Philippines. My husband and I aren’t into the habit of doing overseas trips for every anniversary, that could be quite expensive. Having a mortgage and all while I’m a stay-at-home-mom…let’s just say it’s beyond our means.

Oh sheesh! My laptop’s monitor is making strange noises *bzzt* *bzzt*. The desktop is down because the power supply blew-out on me earlier this week. Darnit, wadyatellyouaboutlifehappening.

It’s been quite a wacky week to say the least. The good news is my husband and I celebrated our 6th year of marriage :). The years went by so quickly and it’s a good thing to say that. Together with our Little K we went to Outback for dinner. Without getting all mushy, I count my married life a blessing.
I’m back sans laptop and desktop where I have my files :(. I’m currently on my last resort(it doesn’t have my files nor my MS tools), oh well at least it’s something to get me to Internet. My momentum for blogging was disrupted with the technical hiccups.
Saturday started off with my husband writhing from pain because of a backache. He has been under chiropractic care for more than a year but his back has been acting up again. Then we had to rush our dog C to the veterinary hospital because he wasn’t improving from what has been afflicting him even after his medication and very bland diet. We were supposed to go to see the Cherry Blossoms in Washington, DC but the day ended up in such a physical and emotional turmoil while we waited for a call back from the vet(who said that he found a mass near C’s rectal area). I felt so helpless to see both my husband and our dog in such state. So after putting us through specially my husband on an emotional rollercoaster(the vet told us his suspicions of cancer without the evidence of a biopsy), they sent C home with a shot of a powerful antibiotic with a referral to a vet specialist clinic- same one where C had his surgery 3 years ago.
It’s 1:00 in the morning already, I’ll have to continue in the next post.

Hi Ate Girlie,
My husband is doing much better but we will still insist on MIRs when he sees the doctor. As for C, he is responding to the anti-biotics and doing a whole much better, he was scheduled to get endoscopy but we postponed it until he is done with his medication. It’s really sad to see our pets get sick. Masakit din sa bulsa, pwede ng pamasahe papuntang Pinas. Tinataga kami rito ng mga beteneraryo kasi alam nila na ka-pamilya ang turing sa mga alaga.
Hi Sexymom,
Thanks for the wishes :)! I was smiling at your comment because if Little K hears you refer to C as “IT” she will correct you “it’s a HE.”

Hi KK. Belated Happy Anniversary to you and your husband. How nice that you were able to spend your anniversary in the Philippines last year. The picture of the lechon just made me hungry.
Every anniversary is special and it’s nice that you spent it this year with your family. May you have more blissful years ahead.
I’m truly sorry to hear about your husband. Hope the pain will go away soon.
I’m also very sorry about your pet. I really hope and pray that it is not cancer. Hope that your dog will get well soon.
Take care!

Hi Tina,
Happy Anniversary! Hey, 6 years is such an achievement - with the most gorgeous little daughter to boot!
But what a triple whammy - about your husband’s back, the sheltie’s illness and the buzzing laptop! I pray all 3 ailments will disappear magically.
Love your new design. It’s so easy to read!
