Heavenly Bodies and Pandas
By KK on Jan 14, 2007 in Darnest Things My Kid Says, Mommy Files, Thinker
Little K(5 yrs and 3 months): Mom, can we go and visit Laddie and Grandpa Eddie in Heaven? Or maybe they can come visit us?
Me: No, we can’t do that, if someone goes to Heaven he/she can’t come back. Don’t ask me why it’s the way it is. (Someone should have told me to take Theology classes for motherhood.)
******
Little K made a drawing of the Solar System and was showing it to me.
Little K: This is the asteriod belt, sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars……. Pluto.
Me: The scientists who have nothing else to do said Pluto is no longer a planet.
Little K: NO! Pluto is a planet!
Me: If you insist(I give up! What were those scientists thinking anyway?)
Little K: This is Sirius. (pointing at a star in her drawing).
Me: Surius? Is that the satellite radio?
Little K: No mom, it’s the brightest star. It shines so bright.
Me: Oh, I didn’t know the names of the stars. (I learn alot from Little K)

While watching Pandas on Animal Planet.
Little K: Mommy, what does euthanize the panda mean?
Me: Putting the Panda in a long sleep. (Does she have to listen to the narrator so intently?)
