What Do You Want for your Birthday?

A question asked by my husband many times now as my birthday draws near.
Of course, I can say an answer fit for a Miss Universe question and answer portion like: ” I want peace, love and happiness to rule around the world” or ” I want the pain and suffering to end in this world” or ” I want the Sudan government to let UN peacekeepers in” or “I want the Iraq and Afganistan war be over so that the troops will come home to their families, and the two countries have stable government” or “I want a cure for cancer” or “I want all criminals to go to jail and be reformed to be better people” or “I want terrorists to stop what they are doing”…… but alas, I can only wish these things when I meet a genie.

Fully aware of our financial constraints, I didn’t ask that we all fly to my birthplace and celebrate with everyone. I asked that we go to the Renaissance Festival just like what we have done last year. But I get the feeling that he needs to get me something he can wrap and present on my birthday. So I asked that we have a quiet dinner at the Outback.

With so many things that happened(and is still happening) in the past 5 years in the world, I find it selfish to ask for more stuff for myself.

I believe that I have come to a point in my life that I have realized that things don’t make me happy, it’s the people in my life that do. I’m estatic that I have grown up!
But then I wouldn’t turn down a winning lottery ticket either because I will be able to fly my my family around the world on a whim to be with family and friends without having to worry about bills!

its normal to wish a peaceful and secured world. But its not within our hands to do it. There are loys still to be educated how to live in peace.
I blame religion and politics , because of with greed and power.
Its only with God ’s Kingdom soon to come on earth to solve all these prblems. Thats why Jesus encourage us to pray the model prayer Our Father who is in heaven, to bring quick HIS Kingdom to us.
On other side, its nice feeling nga na we value other’s needs than ours. You really grown up, haha! all the best.

hi KK! Those are also my WISHes but not on my birthday, haha. Advance happy birthday.

The world is now in chaos and who would not wish for world peace? I think everybody should pray for that how I wish everyone should only think of what’s good for her/his fellow human to attain love and peace.

BTW, Thanks for visiting my site. I was so inspired by your comment.

I’m so proud of you for growing up the way you are now. Yes, it is but natural to wish the things you’ve listed but there is a prayer that says…”Help me to change things that I can and realize the those that I cannot”…as you get older you will realize that by being the best person you are, you influence a lot of people you meet and you make the world a better place.

Never stop wishing…it is the basis for each dream to come true…Happy Birthday!

Girlie: Thanks for dropping by. It’s really tempting to acquire lots of stuff. We all have our individual wants and I don’t take it against anyone who wants more. It’s just my personal choice not to.

Ate Badette: At long last you visited my site! Thanks visiting and for the greetings! Please come back when you can.

kelan ba? HBD kahit di ko alam kung kelan! Haha!
What’s sad about those things that you wish for is that they seem too impossible the way things are going on at present. But, since wishes are free, have as many as you want!
