Wanted: Ultimate Mommy-mobile

Pre-requisite: Read “It’s more than a Car Issue.”
I have said my goodbyes to the good ol’ Caddy and have conditioned myself to give it up for a mini-van.
I started looking for “the ultimate mommy-mobile.” The requirements are pretty simple: (in no particular order)
- good safety record,
- good acceleration,
- good transmission history,
- great gas mileage,
- low cost of maintenance(parts should be cost effective),
- attractive- looks cool.
- and good price.
Our trusted auto service guy highly recommended Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna. We looked online and compared prices. It was a very close match. We have choosen to buy a used Honda against a new Toyota because for the price Honda offered more power(3.3 liter [215 hp] vs 3.5 liter [244 hp] engine) and had leather seats(the sunroof was a bonus).
